Real in product; wording and buyer claims must stay precise (no regulator automation implied).
Purpose
The Licenses module tracks active export authorizations your organization holds — not applications in flight. Use it to see remaining capacity and tie transactions to the correct license.
Typical workflow
- Locate the active license and verify remaining value/quantity.
- Link the license from Transactions when export controls require it.
- Drawdown records consumption; overdraw attempts are blocked (golden path 4).
- Acknowledge open alerts per org policy.
Drawdown and overdraw protection
When a transaction consumes license value or quantity, Trade records a drawdown. If a transaction would exceed remaining capacity, the system blocks the action. This is golden-path behavior for overdraw protection.
Positioning caution
License tracking and drawdown are production-real. Trade does not integrate directly with BIS or DDTC portals for automated license sync — administrators maintain active license records in product.
In the browser
- Sidebar → Licenses — confirm the list heading and at least one active row in demo.
- Click a license number — review remaining value/quantity on detail.
- Return to Transactions — locate license requirement or link on a controlled row.
